Founder Pathway

How it works

Applying is closer to applying to an apprenticeship or a venture studio than signing up for a class. Here is the whole path, before you start.

This pathway is being prepared during JRX’s 2026–2027 beta year; no cohort has started yet. A submitted application is reviewed by people and does not guarantee a place.

Applying

Four steps, saved as you go.

  1. Step 1

    About you

Who you are, what else fills your week, and who at home knows you are applying.

  2. Step 2

    Founder motivation

Why you, what problem or skill you are starting from, and what you have already done about it.

  3. Step 3

    Readiness

Hours you can realistically give, how you handle things not working, and what support you would need.

  4. Step 4

    Show & Prove challenge

Do one real thing with one real person, then show us what happened — including what did not work.

After you submit

People decide, and you can see where it got to.

  1. Review

More than one reviewer reads your application and records what they saw. No score admits anyone.

  2. Interview, if we ask

Sometimes we want to talk before deciding. You will be told when and where.

  3. Decision

A place, a place with conditions, the waiting list, a preparation path, or a decline with a reason.

  4. Onboarding

If you are accepted, you record your commitment. A parent or guardian acknowledges it if you are under 18.

Admission is selective. Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance.

The week

The same nine prompts, every week.

  • This Week's Move

The one thing that moves the business.

  • Customer Evidence

Who did you talk to, and what did they say?

  • Build

What did you make or improve?

  • Sell

What did you offer, and what happened?

  • Numbers

What do the numbers say this week?

  • Learn

What did you need to learn to do this?

  • Founder Team

What do you need from your three people?

  • Show & Prove

What can you show that proves it?

  • Cruz Check

Straight answer: are you actually doing the work?

Once a month your Founder Team sits down with you and leaves with one shared 30-day plan. At every stage gate the decision is made out loud: advance, keep building, pivot, pause, prepare, or transition out.

Read the Field → Make a Move → Test → Learn → Pivot

Failed experiments stay in the record.

Every experiment records the hypothesis, what you actually did, what you expected, what happened, the evidence, the lesson, the decision and the next move. Nothing is deleted because it did not work — that record is a large part of what you can show.

Your commitment

What you agree to if you are accepted.

  • I will show up to my Founder Team meetings.
  • I will come prepared, with my week's work already done.
  • I will act honestly and lawfully in everything I build and sell.
  • I will treat customers and the people I interview with respect.
  • I will record what actually happened, including what failed.
  • I will use my meetings to make decisions, not just to report.
  • I will be transparent about money coming in and going out.
  • I will reflect in my Digital Journal at the points that matter.
  • I will run real experiments instead of guessing.
  • I will change direction when the evidence says to.
  • I will keep other founders' work and information private.
  • I will behave respectfully toward staff, mentors and other founders.

A parent or guardian acknowledges this with you if you are under 18.

Finishing

You finish by showing, not by waiting.

Graduation is a Founder Show & Prove: what the business does, what you can now do yourself, and the evidence for both. The venture's outcome and your development are recorded separately.
  • Founder Pathway Graduate
  • Founder Graduate — venture continuing
  • Founder Graduate — venture pivoting
  • Founder Graduate — venture closed, lessons preserved

What it costs, and what you would be responsible for

Program value: $18,000 for the 18-month core pathway — about $1,000 a month.

What a participant is responsible for may be reduced through approved scholarships, sponsorships or JRX subsidy, so this is not a bill handed to every family.

Your funding plan and exact responsibility are confirmed with you in writing before any payment commitment.

No Founder Pathway payment is taken on this website today.

What the Founder Pathway is — and is not

  • JRX provides structured development, education, mentoring and venture-building support.
  • Participation does not guarantee revenue, profit, investment, customers, employment or business success.
  • Admission is selective. Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance.
