The 12 Houses

Belonging Across Generations

Every Conscious Crusader belongs to one of 12 Houses based on birth month.

House identity is intended to create a lifelong intergenerational connection.

Students, alumni, families, Good Souls, educators, and other members of the broader community may also carry House identity where appropriate.

A House gives you somewhere to belong. Being a Conscious Crusader reminds you that you belong to something even bigger.

A House Is More Than a Team

It can become a place for:

  • belonging
  • mentorship
  • storytelling
  • service
  • traditions
  • friendly competition
  • celebration
  • leadership
  • collaboration
  • House history
  • Time Capsule contributions
  • CLVER Games
  • Marathon Relay
  • community projects
  • intergenerational relationships

Your House Is Part of a Larger Community

House identity should never become more important than the shared Conscious Crusader identity.

A strong House does not become stronger by weakening another House.

JRX wants Houses to compete, collaborate, celebrate one another, and learn how rivalry can exist without disrespect.

Houses may even earn recognition for helping another House succeed.

Intergenerational by Design

House membership is not limited to students.

Over time, a House may include:

  • younger Conscious Crusaders
  • adolescents
  • alumni
  • parents and family members
  • Good Souls
  • educators
  • elders
  • mentors
  • community members connected to the JRX ecosystem

This creates opportunities for younger and older generations to build relationships through a shared identity.

House Leadership

House leadership should rotate.

Leadership is not intended to belong permanently to the most popular student, oldest member, adult mentor, donor, or founder.

House roles may include age-appropriate responsibilities for:

  • student leaders
  • adult stewards
  • project leaders
  • service leads
  • storytellers
  • historians
  • competition captains
  • mentors
  • event leads

House leadership should be earned through participation, service, readiness, responsibility, and Show & Prove.

Competition With Character

Houses may compete through:

  • CLVER Games
  • athletics
  • creativity
  • academics
  • service
  • Quests
  • challenges
  • fundraising where appropriate
  • community contribution
  • other approved experiences

Winning should never become permission to humiliate another House.

House History

Every House should preserve its own story.

Over time, Houses may maintain:

  • important members
  • traditions
  • accomplishments
  • failures
  • lessons
  • artifacts
  • music
  • stories
  • projects
  • community contributions
  • Time Capsule entries

A tradition does not become permanent simply because one generation created it. Houses should understand where traditions came from and have legitimate ways to evolve them.

House Service

House identity should create responsibility beyond the House itself.

Houses may contribute through:

  • community service
  • peer support
  • mentoring
  • inter-House assistance
  • school improvement
  • family support
  • community projects
  • collaborative missions

A House should be known not only for what it wins but for what it contributes.

Detailed House leadership roles, current House projects, House Council procedures, competition rules, and House archives are available to authorized members through the JRX Portal.
