Coordinating Council
How Adults Help Without Taking Over
Adults support infrastructure, safety, access, logistics, introductions, resources and opportunity. Adults do not determine the Youth Agenda for young people.
The Coordinating Council is being formed now. No membership is confirmed yet, and none is listed here until it is.
What the Coordinating Council does
- Make introductions
- Connect youth to people and opportunities
- Suggest guest speakers and presenters
- Bring resources
- Open doors
- Offer expertise
- Support logistics and access
What it does not do
It does not set priorities, write the Youth Agenda, choose youth leaders, or approve what young people are allowed to care about. When a decision needs an adult signature for legal or safety reasons, that is named plainly rather than used to take the work over.
How its contribution is measured
- Quality of opportunities created for youth
- Introductions that turned into relationships
- Resources actually delivered
- Access opened that youth could not open alone
- Relationships that outlast a single meeting
Offer something specific
The most useful offers are concrete: a named introduction, a room, equipment, transport, a skill you can teach in 25 minutes, an internship, a platform, a dataset, a decision-maker who will answer youth questions.
