About the role
Academic Specialists are the human center of core academics at JRX. Students work through personalized, computer-based coursework at their own pace; you read the data, pull small groups, reteach in the moment, and make sure no student drifts.
What you'll do
- Monitor daily progress data and intervene early when a student stalls
- Lead targeted small-group and one-on-one instruction
- Maintain mastery records and contribute to Visible Learning evidence
- Communicate growth and next steps to families and mentors
- Support the mid-academic transition and reset blocks in the daily rhythm
What we look for
- Teaching, tutoring, or instructional coaching experience
- Comfort reading student data and adjusting instruction quickly
- Patience, warmth, and high expectations held at the same time
