About the role
The Research & Development Lead is the academy's learning laboratory. You run small, honest experiments across academics, the Specials Quests, and mentoring; measure outcomes with real evidence; and write up what should scale, what should change, and what should stop. You keep JRX evolving without chasing trends.
What you'll do
- Design and run pilots across academics, Quests, and mentoring with clear success measures
- Build evaluation frameworks and analyze student outcome, engagement, and growth data
- Research emerging learning models, platforms, and AI tools and recommend what JRX adopts
- Translate findings into playbooks, training, and Visible Learning improvements
- Support grant reporting and external research or university partnerships
What we look for
- Experience in program evaluation, learning science, instructional design, or applied research
- Comfort with quantitative and qualitative methods and plain-language reporting
- Curiosity paired with rigor — willing to report that a favorite idea did not work
