Media Network
Stories Shape What Communities Believe Is Possible.
The National YCS Media Network helps young people tell stories, share credible information, document solutions, create media, and strengthen public understanding of youth-led community change.
Possible work includes
- Video
- Short-form media
- Interviews
- Storytelling
- Campaign communication
- Digital media
- Community narratives
- Public education
- Youth-produced content
A youth-led media engine, not a promotional arm
Young people report, interview, research, host, film, photograph, record audio, edit, produce and publish. That includes questioning what is working and what is not — in YCS itself as much as anywhere else.
Every active priority generates media opportunities
- Coverage of action-team work
- Interviews with guest speakers and community leaders
- Community stories from the neighborhoods youth come from
- Show & Prove documentation
Media roles become Quests
Each media role can be published as a Quest with Digital Journal evidence, so the work counts as real skill-building rather than volunteer labor. Approved YCS Media content connects to action teams, guest speakers, Project AmeriXa, Save Time, Real Reel Talk and Show & Prove.
Distinct from Real Reel Talk
Real Reel Talk is the broader public conversation platform. The YCS Media Network is specifically youth-led media and storytelling. They connect; they are not the same thing.
How contributors are supported
Media contributors train in Conscious Influencing, work with editors and mentors, and publish through YCS channels with accessible captions and transcripts.
